FOUNTAIN HILLS THEATER ANNOUNCES IT HAS RECEIVED 38 ARIZONI AWARD NOMINATIONS

Fountain Hills Theater and Fountain Hills Youth Theater have combined for a staggering total of 38 ariZoni Award nominations! The ariZoni Awards are presented annually for recognition of theatrical excellence in the Valley of the Sun. 43 theater companies and more than 140 productions compete for these nominations and awards. The nominations were announced at an event at Phoenix Theatre on Monday, Aug. 1st. The awards are presented in major categories (Best Production, Best Actor, Best Actress, Set and Lighting Design, etc.) with theaters classified as Contracted (using Equity professional talent), Non-Contracted (Community Theaters, Non-union Theater and Educational Theater) and Children’s Theaters.

FHT’s Mainstage received 12 nominations in the non-contracted category including a ‘Best Production’ nod to The Producers.

The Youth Theater received 26 nominations in the Children’s Theater category including recognition of The Tortoise and the Hare and Other Tall Tales and A Carol for Tiny Tim as ‘Best Production’.

The 21th annual AriZoni Awards will be presented at the awards ceremonies on Monday, September 19th at The Tempe Performing Arts Center. The Youth Theater ceremony begins at 5:00pm followed by the Non-contracted and Contracted Theater’s ceremony at 8:00pm.
